Video analysis

By looking closely at two of the bands music videos our group will be able to take inspiration from them and their and style. Temper Traps video the science of fear is mostly in black and white which may be a concept that we adopt in out our own video. The video picks out bits of colour throughout like red of the birds eye and sun, the yellow of the sole of the mans shoes and cars headlights. This gives a fresh, contemporary feel to the bands video. The song also uses fast and frantic cuts for example the birds at the beginning with a combination of slow motion where the people fall through the air. This is a link to the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXJSN6Z9gGo

This is a link to another of their videos 'love lost' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLTPKKt-pMs 'Love lost' uses actors to lip sing in the place of the artists, the song is also different to the science of fear as it is less contemporary and is set in the past. The actors are also children which can make the video seem quite controversial as it's children singing a song related to love but it is also humerus to watch the children lip singing to a adult recording, dancing and running through muddy puddles. They use groups of actors and dancers rather than presenting the group (like in the science of fear), using actors allows the video to portray a stronger narrative which is also something which we may adopt in our video.

Target Audience of Band

This is a link to Temper Traps Facebook group

http://www.facebook.com/tempertrap?ref=ts&v=wall

Billions of people on Facebook have access to Temper Traps page so it is a great way in seeing the bands fan base. The page has 206,167 fans, by reading comments fans have posted it gives the impression that there are more male than female fans, however it would be too time consuming to view every fans page to get an reliable reading. I cant actually access the fans profiles to find their ages, however you can tell by their profile pictures that they are a variety of ages.

I can also see that Temper Trap appear in 'NME' magazine and also independent music magazine

By going on NRS - National Readership Survey it allows me to see a detailed representation of the magazines target audience. Therefore I will be about to relate the magazines target audience to my artist as they have appeared in this magazine. I have print screened document highlighting NME's section.
- This tells us that 84,000 women read NME magazine compared to the 241,000 men.

- It also outlines that there is a significant difference in the target age range from 294,000 people aged between 14-44 and 31,000 people aged 45+
